Through the Forest - (video narration)
I’ve always thought that time slows down when you’re snowboarding. It’s a magical feeling… to experience everything and nothing, all at the same time, lost in the landscape. Your worries are forcefully forgotten. Your cares are pushed past. Your stress melts away. Life actually becomes simple for a short time. Answers become immediate and pressing. Do I… Turn right… Twist to the left… Duck under this tree… Try a jump… Celebrate the small wins… We spend a lot of time waiting for the perfect moment… When should I switch jobs? Should I get married? Have kids? Schedule that meeting on Tuesday or Thursday? And in reality… it’s difficult to know when the answers to those moments will come. More often than not, the moments just slowly become a part of you, intertwined in time. Just like snowboarding, Paths merge, Trails converge, And sometimes you’ll hit a couple of dead ends, fall a few times and need to dig yourself out. You can only live better by learning from failure.

Waiting For New Snow, is a winter poem and something that I've had in my head for a bit now. It is a poem about waiting but also the power of winter. The wait for a clean beginning, a fresh start and something to look forward too. I think it is safe to say that a lot of us are struggling from the fallout of the pandemic, myself included. The constant state of semi-purgatory and wondering what the future holds. This was shot last winter near Lake Tahoe, before the pandemic really hit, and over the course of 2.5 days, it snowed a little over 5 feet, we had never seen anything like it. *** Snow is the greatest illustration of how teeny, tiny small things can make a difference. Consider the snowflake, nearly microscopic, yet when steadily added one on top of another, they become powerful! They can change everything! They transform the land, transform our activities, transform the way we travel. They can insulate, they can crush. So too are actions. Good actions, loving and

I had a dream so big and loud
I jumped so high I touched the clouds
I stretched my hands out to the sky
We danced with monsters through the night
I'm never gonna look back
Woah, never gonna give it up
No, please dont wake me now
